We wondered if we would every see this day…Over the past few months we’ve talked to no less than six people about hanging our shutters…Some never got back to us while a couple were ridiculously expensive…The waiting paid off though because Cap’s shutter guy, Junie, was looking for some extra work and gave us a great price…It’s amazing how much shutters can dress up a house…

How do you access them? -#1 to close them and #2 what holds them open?

Good questions…What keeps them open? Hook and eyes…How do you access them to close? Depends on which ones…They are secured from the outside with a 2″ x 4″ wedged inside two bar holders attached to the back of the shutters…some of the shutters can be accessed with a ladder and then from the roof while the ones on the west side need a little more imagination…Untested as yet, once these are closed (from the inside) I plan to secure both levels with one long 2″x4″ while standing on the outside decks…
